Keeneland Sales Alumni Wonder Gadot, Midnight Bisou Dominate Queen’s Plate, Mother Goose

So Perfect earns September Sale Bonus with win in Group 3 Grangecon Stud (Balanchine)

Keeneland sales alumni won impressively in stakes company this weekend, recording victories in the U.S., Canada, Ireland and South Korea.

Fillies captured the headlines with breathtaking performances. Canadian champion Wonder Gadot defeated males in the $1 million Queen’s Plate at Woodbine. At Belmont, Midnight Bisou romped to a six-length win in the Mother Goose (G2).

So Perfect won the Grangecon Stud (Balanchine) (G3) at The Curragh to become the first September Yearling Sale graduate to earn a reward as part of Keeneland’s September Sale Bonus Program. The Bonus Program, initiated last year, rewards the owner (at the time of sale) of a horse sold at the September Sale that wins a Grade/Group 1, 2 or 3 stakes as a 2- or 3-year-old. Keeneland will pay Machmer Hall, owner of So Perfect when she sold at the 2017 September Sale, a $5,000 bonus for the win.

At Woodbine, Long On Value earned an automatic berth in the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) at Churchill Downs in November with his gritty win over Lady Alexandra in the Highlander (G1) at Woodbine. At Monmouth, Harlan Punch was a clear winner of the Philip H. Iselin (G3).

South Korean champion and September Sale graduate Cheongdam Dokki won the Busan Mayor’s Cup as a prep for his anticipated start in the Keeneland Korea Cup in September.
